Journal #3: The Big Question

A normal day in society is nonstop. From the moment we wake up to the second we go to sleep, there is work to finish, classes to go to, and other general things to do. Even since we were kids, it has seemed like there was never a break. The time we do have off, we spend on our phones, never giving our brains a true break. This fast paced society is starting to have an impact on our lives, making us less connected, constantly tired, and emotionally and physically worn out. How can we fix this? How can we slow it down where we can enjoy the beauty of our lives?

It is easy to say that the speediness of our daily lives is an issue, but it is hard for one to address that issue. This has become common, it is hard to change something that is a part of us. On the other hand, this change may be a necessary one. Our lives are full of distractions, and we end up missing a lot. From how nice the weather is, to the sunset at night, there is so much beauty in our lives, and we end up missing it because of the distractions we face whether we choose to or not. The scariest thing about this issue is that it is relevant to almost every human on the planet. Additionally, there are no signs of it slowing down anytime soon. We are already busy, and with new technology we tend to just distract ourselves even more, watching videos, playing games, whatever it is.

In conclusion, I believe that this is one of the most significant problems in the world today. Everyone should address their lives and see what distractions are stopping them from living to the fullest. Additionally, those who can have an impact on this need to make changes. We cannot truly enjoy and value our lives if we do not know the extent of the beauty that life is.
