Someone who has succeeded in a way that I wish to succeed is Joe Buck. He is a commentator for many sports on TV, and is nationally known. He achieved my dream, and has always been an inspiration to me. Joe Buck followed in his fathers footsteps and became a commentator. He started out in college, and progressed from there. I wish to do the same thing, I want to use Whittier as a stepping stool to get me out into the broadcasting game. The best way to get into this business is to get your name out there, and that is how I plan on doing it. Another thing about him that I wish to emulate is his diversity. He has announced for almost every sport on almost every level, and I wish to do that as well. I believe that by having a diverse amount of sports that I can understand and commentate on I can become more of an asset. Joe Buck is one of my inspirations, and I believe if I try to follow his path, I will make great strides into my potential career. 

A second person who inspired me is Bob Miller. Bob Miller is the former announcer for the Los Angeles Kings hockey team. His story is very similar to that of Joe Bucks, however the thing that I want to replicate the most is his renown. Everyone in La who watches sports knows the name Bob miller. He has become a local legend, and I hope to be able to find a team that I can stick with like that. Additionally, because of his renown he would get big assignments, like the Miracle on Ice game, where the US beat the “unbeatable” soviet team.

Both of these men inspire me for different reasons. They are people who are successful in my dream career. I believe that if I can follow in their footsteps then I can improve my chances of being successful, and I can do what I have always dreamed of doing.
